Table of contents

I think the table of contents gave me the most issues out of the whole magazine. I wanted a single page for my table of contents, but Joomag only provided a double page spread. I asked all my friends doing a magazine how they made it a single page, but they all told me they had the same issue. No one could figure out how to make the table of contents one page. I searched online for about 20 minutes figuring it out, but nothing said I could make it one page. I decided to just deal with it and start on my table of contents.

I started with 5 pages to put in my table of contents then changed it to 4. I had titles written already, but I messed around with them a bit. I wanted to make my page numbers fun and interesting instead of just writing "Pg.5", so I made my page numbers inside a colorful circle. I made each circle a different color. I used light colors though, really giving the summer feel. For example, light pink, light green, and light blue. It took awhile to center the circles and the numbers inside them. I guess I could've used grids now that I think about it, but it's whatever. I only had one side of table of contents filled out and the second page that I didn't want there was plain white. I thought about just leaving it there, but it just didn't look right. Then I came up with the perfect idea.

I took a picture of the sky with a part of a tree's leaves in it when I was at school. I thought it was the perfect background for my table of contents. I used the app Vsco (same one I used my cover image) to edit the picture to make it a little brighter. Although it was already bright and sunny outside, I wanted the picture to have a little more color. I uploaded the picture to my magazine and placed it on one side of my table of contents page. I rewrote my title and put it at the center of the picture. I changed the "Table of Contents' words from black to yellow, making it feel brighter. I moved all my titles and page numbers to the right page. The right page still looked empty so I decided to add one more article to my table of contents and now I have 5. After half an hour of aligning everything and making sure it was center to my eye, I finally finished my table of contents. Talk to you guys later.
